Welcome to my blog How to draw Characters, you are about to enter into a world where imagination and creativity have no limits, you are about to learn key techniques that will increase your drawing skills faster than a cannon ball. Every week I will post step-by-step how to draw famous Comix/Cartoon characters, later you will learn how to develop your ow characters, and also tips and tricks about this wonderful art form. Before we can start let me address some common questions on the subject:
How long does it take to learn how to draw?
This is a very good question, drawing among others art skills are really dependent on personal effort, you may learn in a few months or a few years, is really up to you. But my best advice will always be, practice, practice and them practice some more, them you will start to notice how great are the improvements you are making day after day, its really amazing and exciting.
Do I need to be born with a art talent to be good?
Not at all! Of course, people with natural skills will aways learn faster them others, but there is no substitute for experience and practice in this world. I know many friends ho had no idea on how to hold a pencil and 6 months later, after some of my teachings, those friend´s skills increased in such a way that made myself surprised, really folks, they became pretty good.
Can I make money with it?
Sure you can, knowing how to draw efficiently will always be a plus in you curriculum, design agency’s are always looking for professionals with good drawing skills because they know this is a hard thing to find, besides is a pretty cool thing to impress the ladies.
Do you have another question?
Well, ask me them! I´m more than pleased in helping you out.
So with no further delay lets get start!!
For the exercises I´m about to present the required materials you will need are a good 0.5 pencil ( blue graffiti is perfect if you have them, otherwise the regular one do the job),an eraser and some paper.

In this first Tutorial I present you how to draw the Wolverine, I know most of you will find pretty hard to in the beginning to execute this exercise, but thats exactly what I want (don’t be angry, It will pay off later I swear), just want to demonstrate the power behind the technique I´m using. Try not to use to much the eraser, If you made a mistake start over again, the goal here is to train your eye perception for the proportions on the male face. Wolverine´s face have small eyes and nose compared to his mouth proportion, and his head shape is short. The more apart the eyes the more aggressive the character will look like, but don’t put them to apart.

1- Start of by drawing a circle, no need to be a perfect circle, is just for reference.
2- Draw two lines, a horizontal and a vertical one, the intersection will show were our sketch´s head will be pointing at.
3- Now the hard part, start to mark were the eyeballs, mouth, ear and nose will be placed. Also draw another two lines to define the shape of the face.
4- Its now time to refine the the sketch, start by completing the face outline and them define the eyes, nose and the rest.
5- Ok, by now you should have a good idea of how the final sketch will look like. If turned out good, start the final process refining the lines until you are satisfied.
Tip: Having in hand a reference of the character in question will increase the accuracy of the final sketch.
Try to practice this exercise a few times during the week, you will start to notice how those reference lines are vital for the sketch construction, and how your line work will slowly be more solid and secure.
